March DQS

*
I'm pretty sure the recipient for this mini doesn't swing through my blog,
so I should be safe showing you;
however
LIZ, if you do pass through, AVERT YOUR EYES!!
*
*
Doll Quilt Swap for March,
the theme "Animals"!
*
*
The kitty is cut from wool and felt, with an embroidered mouth and whiskers.
The HST background is Daisy Cottage, such sweet fabric.
*
It's nice to have "IT" back!   :)

I've Shown You Mine...UPDATE ADDED

*
I've shown you mine,
now show me yours! (If you want) ;D
*
It's a To - Do List, It's A Linky Party, It's Going To Be Down Right Fun!
*
***"UPDATE HERE!"***
Don't laugh too much but, for the second month now I've finished up my DQS,
packaged and labelled it and popped it in the mail,
and forgot to take a picture!
I'm hoping that when it arrives at it's destination (which should be any day now)
I can get a pic (I'm such a Homer (SIMPSON)!
*
January blocks for my Northwinds quilt brought to you by the
Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2013 (RSC2013).
These make up some good size blocks, 12 1/2" , so this should come together
fairly quick, I hope all going well!
*
Below is another block for the RSC2013 but just for kicks,
I may make this into a pillow.
*
*
This is also some fiddling about that could find life on the back of my Northwinds
or on the table as the start to placemats for my crew.
*
*
As my fingers fly stumble across the keyboard to have this post up,
I'm telling myself that I will get Mill House Inn quilted today come hell or high water!
Or in our case...
come the second "-43C, way to friggin' cold for the school bus to even start" day followed by
a teacher's day tomorrow!
My darlings have a 5 day weekend!
So without further ado, I'm off to quilt and, all going well, I'll be able to add
this to the finished pile!
*
*
The last thing on my list was to organize a pincushion swap.
I've seen quite a few of these going on, so for now I think I'll shelf this idea for the time being.
I'm not completely sure of how to go about putting a swap together,
any suggestions would be appreciated.
*
I guess I didn't do too bad and I did finish some things that were not on my list.
February will be better! :)
Until the 28th of February then,
HAPPY STITCHING!
*

Thearica over at Pig Tales and Quilts
is going to keep the motivated from the get go!
What will you gain?
The accountability to yourself to get those pesky things done and start something new,
maybe challenge yourself to jump in with both feet and try that project you've been tempted to do but have held back. Well now's the time to give it a shot
I'm not quite as adventurous as Thearica with 5 but I think 4 projects is doable for me.
Sew...what about you? Are you up for a personal challenge? This is so much easier
than some of those new years resolutions I've tried and failed at over the years!!

100 Day Hustle Results

*
Wow!! It's hard to believe that 100 days are soon to have passed since I signed up to join
the other Hustlers in getting their UFOs completed in 2012!
Time flies for some and stands still for others.
There's been so much happen in those 100 days, at times, it's been
incomprehensible.
*
*
I found my list changing constantly over the allotted time given but I still did accomplish some of my list, all be it very little.
*
"Laundry Day" is finished and on our bed,

*

Pillowcases for the students of Sandy Hook School in Newton
*
This Blanket Of Love is finished and awaits delivery to the hospital.

My entry for Madame Samm's Holiday Lane Pillow Blog Hop

*

*

Snowmen coasters and pot mats for both giveaways and my Etsy Shop
*

Pillowcases for us (got on a bit of a roll here)

*
As you can see, my dent in my list was minimal but I was keeping busy.
I've decided to put my whirlygiggle back in the cupboard, it's one of those quilts that I'm just not feeling "it" !
I tried getting a new bag made but I can't decide on fabrics, sew I'll just bide my time.
I do have another quilt made of Mill House Inn pinned and ready to go under the needle.
Maybe today but we'll see, I've been bitten by a cold bug or something :(
As for Great Granny, she's slated for completion by Valentine's Day!

Too cute!

Remember The Village People? YMCA?

*
*
Well this group is our version of the Village People!
Each year the local church has a carolling ride for the kids and cookies are delivered to
all the houses in our village.
*
*
CJ was still feeling a little drawn from a cold but insisted on going,
he didn't make it through the entire ride and arrived back home chilled.
Nice warm bath for you mister, okay Mom.
*
*
That's my foster daughter in pink with the bells.
*
*
My oldest, Danny, heading back to the trailer after dropping off goodies to our neighbour.
After all the cookies are distributed , they head to the church for a cold plate supper and prizes!
Another successful year!
*
DQS ALERT!!!!!
DON'T PEEK WILMA
*
*
This is heading to North Carolina as we speak for Wilma.
Our December theme was Signs of the Season, I saw this idea somewhere
here over the last few weeks (I'm sorry I just can't remember where) and put my spin on it.
Those bows are the kind you buy with the wire twist on them for decorating, they give this
DQS some dimension. I hope Wilma likes it.
*
There's still 2 days left to enter well over 150 giveaways!
See my previous post for both my GIVEAWAY and the MASTER LIST!!
With so many chances, you're bound to win!
Good Luck!

*
12 more sleeps ;)

REMEMBER WHEN...

*
You pulled these out on a rainy/snowy day and just coloured?
*
Have you seen some of the amazing works that have popped up in blogland
using the crayon technique?
I wanted to try this out but was, frankly, worried I was going to screw it up royally.
Wellll...I took the bull by the horns and grabbed a box of my boy's crayons
and coloured!
This is the result
*
*
How fun is this?
*
*
I drew in the shingles and detailed the picture with a fabric marker.
Can you see the difference it makes from the left to the right?
Then I took some black perle cotton and started to randomly hand quilt this piece.
I then stitched in 13 ( for  Halloween, heehee) stars around the picture.
*
*
I think the house was the most fun on this picture but I'm thrilled with the way it turned out.
My DQS partner was very happy too!!
Thank you, Jules!
*
*
HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL!!
PLAY SAFE!
