PAPER PIECING PARTY HAPPENING...YEAH

*
Kristy @ Quiet Play
is having a party and you're all invited to join the fun!
It doesn't matter where your skill levels are in the world of
paper piecing (pp) for this party! We're all here to share our love of this
sewing technique.
Kristy is the Grand Mistress of pp designs!
*
This is what I've been stitching away at, slowly, over the past couple of weeks.

The "TARDIS" block from Whims and Fancies  "Doctor Who QAL".
I know it doesn't look like much right now, but give me a few more nights like
this evening and I should have this block finished and on to the next in this wonderful series,
the "TIME LORD"!
*
If you've been toying with the idea of pp, try it! You might just find out that you like it!
If you need more good reasons to try pp, check out Kristy's remarkable patterns
I'm lovin' the "RETRO KITCHEN" patterns ;)

HAPPY PAPER PIECING :)

NewFOs for July

I decided and my stash dictated that I would be adding a sash to my
Great Granny Along quilt.
The top is all sewn together and now I have to dig through
some more to see what I'll use for the backing, I hope I have
enough flannel scraps.
This quilt went together very fast and has used up alot of scraps
that were just begging to be called into action.
It's going to be so cosy for the
coming winter months.

Next up is a quilt for
100 Quilts for Kids
This is my 7th so far this year for a womens' shelter in
Prince Albert, SK.
I have some flannel waiting in the wings for the back.
Have you read about this cause?

Yesterday I found myself fiddling around at my machine
and the next thing I know I'm making a few more of the trees
from the scraps of yesterday's post. These are fairly small
at 1 1/2" ~ 2" for the evergreens and the tree trunk
is 4" tall.  I haven't got a clue where this is going but I'm
sure I'll have fun getting it there.

Bullet wants to remind all of you pet-parents that
with  August looming so to is
So scrub up Scooby, tidy up Tigger and all the rest
of our 2 and 4 legged furry/feathered/scaley babies,
grab a quilt and start snapping your award winning photos!
~
Well that's my collection of this months Newfos
which reminds me that if you don't  have enough Newfos
and need a reason for more click here

Christmas Quilt Along...HELP PLEASE!

Does this combo  work?
Please
be honest
I don't mind criticism.
It's just that I'm awful when it comes to this type of thing.
I'd rather do some stash busting
but if this isn't going to work,
                                                                 I'll have to purchase :(

We're off and coughing,

Today's the day!!
We're all gathered, receiving our supply list and instructions.
I'm going to be delving into this blind since I've chosen to sew up the
MYSTERY BLOCK

Unfortunately I hit a snag.

I have been feeling progressively worse since Thursday and today I'm lucky to get this posted!
My oldest stayed home a few days  last week with a harsh cough and I managed to get it too!
My chest is smarting and I can't recall coughing myself into headaches for a long time.
Hubby will have to take at least D to the doc on Monday since he also suffers from what
I'm afraid could be a mystery cough (chronic).
I've been doing alot of reading since this started and we've had him to dr.s and specialists.
Allergies have been ruled out but D's been on an inhaler since last May, it helped immensely but
he still coughs somewhat. This new addition is kicking the crap out of him.
I may just get hubby to go to fabric shop for me on Monday too!
Not to worry I will be back in the pink this week.
Forgive me for the rambling content of this post, it's how my brain is functioning!

Christmas Quilt Along

There's going to be a choice of  a Mystery Block or do your own thing
and
you'll be all set before Christmas!
No mad stitching at the last minute, (I've done this too many times).
So shake out you party dress, bring your goodies and a bit of eggnog
if you like and let's have some fun!
Have a super day
                     Hugs,
