Whimsy

There are times when I really enjoy creating something completely fun and frivolous!
I'd been cruising around and came across Waldorf dolls.
I think these softies are marvelous so I decided to make one for my own pleasure.
She's quite a bonnie lass from her magenta footies to her flowered dress and fleece shrug.

I also had some fun making mice of various sizes.
This maiden stands 5" at the tip of her pert nose,
and if she feels up to the task, can hold a mini pincushion in her outstretched arms.

Sew up some fun today!
Hugs...

Pop's Pups

I made these little pups as special gifts for my 2 munchkins.
They already hold a warm place in my boys' hearts
because they are "memory pups".
The ears and underbelly are cut from shirts from
D & CJ's Pop's shirts.
The pattern was from  Bustle and Sew,  a wonderful blog that's sure to put a smile on your face.

I Cut and I Cried

I finally did it!
Awhile back I posted pics of shirts from my Father-in-law,
he passed away in May of this year.
It took me until this week to make the first cut,
yes it was met with tears but I managed to gather up my courage
and push on.
I know he would have gotten a good chuckle knowing that his shirts
were becoming a Wonky Star Quilt. The name would bring a smile to his face.
I'm going to add this quilt's completion to my list for

On another note
I had a
and nobody showed up!
Yep!! Nobody!!
Talk about deflated, I've no idea what went wrong.
So here's what I'm going to do,
the first comment left on this post will win!
Could it be any easier?

Ooo Ooo Witchy Woman

I saw this idea here

and said to myself,
"Self, your kiddos will get a kick out of this gal".

Sew I made one!

I'm particularly proud of my spider.
The bad boy is fashioned from a satin scrap for the body and
zipper scraps from my box totes.
That fabulous ribbon was from my not -so -local FS
for a steal...50 cents a spool!
BooYah!

Toast and a Bowtie

Do you sew stuffies or softies for your little ones?
I made this fine chap, my son named him "TOAST",
a couple of years ago.
He has been loved very much in that time and still holds a soft spot in CJ's group of toys.

Toast was fashioned from a recycled piece of wool skirt, a few single buttons that
CJ picked out and a bit of yarn for hair.
Toast has been through alot, hence the rather crooked smile/smirk!
I think he holds quite a few secrets.
Do you like the bowtie?

Another apron

This is how to recycle a tired sheet.
In fact I have enough to back a baby quilt too with some left over!
This apron is for my foster daughter "K".
The reverse (I forgot to take a pic) is a kitten print.

She's RATastic! don't you think?

I had fun creating this little gal from an upcycled wool skirt,
some scrap leather, a bit of cotton and felt!
