~
These were my dear father-in-law's.
Dad passed away May 26,2011.
It took me until this week to take them out of their suitcase.
I've had alot of tears just holding and stroking them and giving thanks for the privilege of being in his life.
My FIL was an amazing man and he meant the world to me.
In fact over the last 14 years he's been my only parent.
My plan for these is a memory quilt.
It`s lovely to read how close you were to your father in law, and a memory quilt made from his shirts would be a beautiful thing.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you, my name is Kim.

I am so sorry for your loss! I think making a memory quilt is an excellent idea. I have made a few int he past. As hard as it is to tear up those shirts, It is such a peaceful feeling in the end! Sounds like you have tons of great memories to ponder over too.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your wonderful FIL. I am looking forward to seeing what kind of quilt you come up with using those shirts. A memory quilt will be a perfect way to use those shirts and remember him!
